Okay, so while maintaining a blog and working full time took a toll on me and I took a break from it all, I happened to make this yum Onion Pulao a few days back as I was looking for a quick lunch fix. And, now this is one tops my faveourite rice recipes. Now, getting back to the task at hand.
Let's get Cooking...!!!
Onion Pulao is such a quick recipe, it's surprising such less ingredients can becombined to give out such a flavourful dish.
1 Cup Rice washed and soaked
1 tsp Jeera/ Mustard (Optional)
2 tsp Chilli Powder
1 tbsp Biryani Masala
2 tsp Oil
2 Cup Water
Salt to taste
1-2 Large Onions Sliced
Take 1 Cup Rice and wash it thoroughly. After washing let them soak in some water until other preps are done.
In a Pressure cooker add 2 tsp oil and jeera/mustard - take your pick and add the sliced onions. Cook them on high flame until they caramelize nicely and turn golden.
Once onions are cramelized add red chillipowder and biryani Masala and mix well. Now add in the rice and add 2 cups of water. Add salt and stir once.
Pressure Cook for three whistles on medium flame. Enjoy warm with chilled raita.
This one pot rice recipe is super quick and delicious. The flavour of caramelized onions is just fabulous. Try it with a bowl of chilled curd and thank me later this is a no fail recipe and simply put its heaven in a bowl.
