RoohAfza Lassi


RoohAfza - refresher of the soul. This cooling drink has been our summer favourite since forever. The specific Unani recipe of Rooh afza combines several cooling agents which act as a remedy for loo during summers.


Summers bring in the joy of relishing some refreshing drinks. Lassi being one of the most popularly made summer cooler in the Northern India - made with a clend of yogurt, water, spices and sometimes fruit. Let's make a cooling drink combining the two summer favourites - Lassi and Roohafza.


This creamy Roohafza Lassi is super refreshing and just perfect to replenish your energy level. So rich it keeps you full for longer.

Ingredients -

  • 1 Cup Milk - Frozen

  • 1 1/2 Cup - Fresh Curd

  • 3 tbsp - Roohafza

  • 1/2 tsp - Black salt

  • 1/2 tsp - Roasted jeera powder

  • 1 tbsp - Pistachio chopped


Instructions -

  • In a blender, add the frozen milk and blend it well.

  • Now add the roohafza and curd ,blend again. Add the salt and roasted jeera powder andblend again.

  • Pour in a glass and garnish with some shredded pistachios.

Pro - Tip : Black Salt and jeera enhances the sweet flavour of roohafza in the lassi.

This lassi has been our summer favourite for years. The use of salt gives it a nice punch but feel free to skip it if you are not a fan. You can also adjust the consistency to your liking, this recipe gives you a thick consistency and makes 3 generous glasses. Use coconut curd and coconut milk for a vegan lassi.


Get Blending

Pair this easy lassi with some homemade granola and chia seeds to make yummy breakfast bowls. You can skip jeera and salt for the breakfast combo. Get creative, add fresh fruits have fun and savour it your way.
